Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra launches globally, with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Leica cameras and more

Smartphone photography enthusiasts, rejoice. The is finally launched globally, and we'll be able to get our hands on both the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and base Xiaomi 14 phones when it launches here in on . Debuting globally at MWC 2024, we've when it launched in China so that we won't go into too much detail here. The show-stopper is definitely the flagship Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Packing a , and , the phone looks very similar to its predecessor, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. You get the same massive circular camera bump on the rear with , thanks to that announced in 2022. Some of the cameras have been changed, however, with a new using the and boasting a new step-less variable aperture from f/1.63 to f/4.0 compared to the predecessor, which could only go from f/1.9 to f/4.0. The lenses have also changed from the previous Leica Vario-Summicron 1:1.8-3.0/12-120 ASPH. to the new . The dual telephoto lens setup is still present here, with a 75mm floating telephoto camera at f/1.8 and a 120mm periscope camera at f/2.5.The ultra-wide camera appears to be the same 50MP 12mm f/1.8 unit with a 122-degree FOV. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra can now capture , and the Leica Authentic and Leica Vibrant looks and filters remain. To prevent overheating when out and about on photoshoots, Xiaomi has adopted a new with a dedicated thermal loop for the cameras. While the battery capacity remains at , Xiaomi has improved the wireless charging speeds up to instead of the previous 50W. Wired charging remains at that offers transfer speeds up to 10Gbps.
