Casio is celebrating its 50th anniversary by giving fans a reissue of its first-ever watch – the Casiotron QW02 from 1974. This is the and the first thing you'll notice is how similar it is to the original. Casio really nailed the look, from the integrated lugs down to the bracelet. What's also remarkable is how contemporary it looks, despite being based on a design from five decades ago. The original Casiotron was notable because it had an automatic calendar. This meant users need not adjust the calendar on the first day of each (apart from leap years) – the watch would automatically account for the differences. We take this for granted, but it was kind of a big deal back then. is obviously much more advanced than that. Not only does it have an automatic date feature, but the new watch also has chronograph functions, daily alarms, and is solar-powered.  It also features so it can receive atomic time signals from up to six stations around the world. But if you are a real stickler for accuracy, the watch can also connect via Bluetooth to your phone and sync itself to atomic time up to four times a day using the Casio Watches app.  Time is read off and Super Illuminator backlighting ensures legibility even in the dark. Like the original watch, the Casiotron TRN-50 features a screw-lock caseback. There's a special logo to celebrate Casio's 50th anniversary and the caseback will also have engraved serial numbers to denote that this watch is part of a limited edition run.
