Apple just announced the latest version of its OS for Macs and it's called macOS Sequoia. Named after the famous giant tree, it packs a whole host of useful updates as well as Apple's suite of AI features called Apple Intelligence. Let’s get through some of the big ones now. You can launch apps and even the phone’s audio will come through on your Mac. Best of all, when all this is happening, your phone’s screen remains locked so no one can see what you are doing. This means you can use iPhone Mirroring even when it is charging in Standby mode. This feature sounds incredible and I can’t wait to see the live demos of it. Better late than never right, macOS Sequoia will finally have so users can arrange their windows more quickly. Whenever you drag an app to the edge of your display, macOS Sequoia will suggest ways to tile your app on the screen. You can also use keyboard shortcuts to manage your apps even quicker. macOS is finally getting a dedicated standalone password management app. To be sure, macOS has always had this, but it was buried within the Settings app. The new standalone Passwords app will so that they can easily and securely log into websites and services. Gaming is a huge focus for Apple on the Mac and Apple is introducing with macOS Sequoia, which will make it easier for developers to bring their games to the Mac, iPhone, and iPad. In addition, Apple is also proud to share that there will be a host of “highly anticipated” titles coming to the Mac, including Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, World of Warcraft: The War Within, and more. macOS Sequoia will also be deeply integrated with Apple’s suite of generative AI tools that the company is calling Apple Intelligence.  Arguably the feature that is most germane to users would be , which can help users proofread, summarise, and even rewrite their documents. This can be used across nearly all apps that involve writing such as Pages, Mail, Notes, and even third-party apps. macOS Sequoia will also have access to other AI tools, such as the image generation tool Image Playground, the Clean Up tool in Photos that lets users get rid of distracting elements in their photos, and enhanced Siri. macOS Sequoia will be available later this year as a free update.
