Tecno unveils PolarAce imaging system that offers AI-powered skin tone mapping, RAW processing and more

Mobile videographers and content creators will be intrigued by Tecno's new , a dedicated imaging chip built for one of Tecno's new phones (Camon 30 Premier 5G) which was announced at . Using a , the PolarAce system not only is the brand's first imaging chip system, but is also an industry first by supporting .  Using four main technologies, the system relies on Sony LYTIA sensors in conjunction with the Sony CXD5622GG chip that supports , which provides a huge leap in computing power to the tune of an incredible .  The imaging chip is equipped with four engines that work together to achieve 4K 30FPS full-scene AI-NR HDR video, namely  to reduce noise, to optimise real color restoration, to improve video quality and to ensure smoothness of videos even during long recordings.  AI-powered functionalities are also a big part of the system, with Tecno's technology relying on AI to achieve more accurate skin tone captures. There is also Tecno's built-in , which can generate portrait elements and disguises. It can generate clothes, from wedding dresses and cartoon dolls to graduation attire, formal wear and more, without needing a third-party app. For unwanted elements and passersby, Tecno's  work similarly to Google's Magic Eraser by using AI to remove them. The Tecno PolarAce Imaging System will debut in the smartphone set to launch in Q2 2024. The phone will come equipped with a 70mm periscope lens that supports up to 60x digital zoom and an "Action Dot" breathing light on the rear that indicates when the phone is recording video.  Unfortunately, we might not see this in Singapore anytime soon, as Tecno phones (like the  ) typically do not have official retail presence on our sunny island either.
