Take larger instant photos with Fujifilm's new Instax Wide 400 camera

Fujifilm has announced its - the long-awaited successor to the Wide 300 that was released nearly over a decade ago. The Instax Wide 400 is an analogue instant camera that produces film photos measuring . The camera uses the Fujifilm Instax Wide Film which is double the width of the Fujifilm Instax Mini film and takes around 90 seconds to develop. For comparison, the Instax Mini Film produces photos measuring 46mm by 62mm. The new analogue camera powers on by the turn of the lens. The camera features a by twisting the lens for sharper shots of distant objects. If you’re planning on getting up close and personal, there is also an that Fujifilm says lets you capture subjects as close as 40cm without blurriness or focus problems. On the topic of modes, previously when taking photos with the Wide 300, there were the Hi Key and Low Key modes which lighten or darken the photos captured. This is now removed in the new Wide 400, which means users won't be able to adjust the brightness of their photos manually. For group shots, there is also a – something that was glaringly missing from its predecessor. The self-timer feature can be set at increments of two seconds up to 10 before it snaps a photo. Included with the camera are also brand to prop up the camera. This can be paired with the self-timer to take photos without the need for a tripod. The Wide 400 has a redesigned body. It is rounder for better handling and the viewfinder is no longer sticking out off the side of the camera. It is now right in front of the shutter button. Other notable features include a built-in electronic flash, a shutter that operates between 1/64 and 1/200 seconds, and an overall weight of 616g without the battery and added accessories.
