Synology launches BeeStation making it easy to share space in the Cloud with family

Synology has announced , a new addition designed to bring personal cloud storage to everyone. BeeStation is meant to make backing up, managing, and sharing files simple without any subscription fees and giving the user maximum control over their data. It comes with a built-in 4 TB hard drive, along with web, desktop, and mobile applications, to make managing and accessing files possible from anywhere. It is very much like a modern  , but with simplified management. Whether you're a designer, a photographer, or an office worker, you can open and edit BeeStation files from any desktop, meaning you can work from any space while continuing your work that is stored on BeeStation. Recognising the need to be able to share storage and data as a family, BeeStation allows users to create private storage spaces for each family member without needing to have any networking or IT skills. The feature also ensures that individual privacy is respected and maintained. Users can also turn on automatic backups of photos and videos from iOS and Android devices so that BeeStation automatically keeps their most important memories protected. BeeStation also uses AI to keep track of photos, making it easier to find and share specific images or albums with hardware-accelerated people and object recognition. In terms of specs, the BeeStation comes with a Realtek RTD1619B processor coupled with 1GB of DDR4 RAM, but only a single 4TB HDD at 5,400rpm. In terms of connectivity options, it has a single RJ-45 port, one USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port and one USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port. BeeStation's advanced features include the ability to back up files from Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, and connected USB drives, ensuring that users always retain a copy of their important data.
