Samsung thinks the world needs another AI robot vacuum cleaner

The Korean company calls it the . The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo is an upgrade from Samsung’s , which was introduced in 2021. The obvious upgrade is the new robot’s added mopping ability and other unseen precision-related upgrades. , the most notable improvement is , where the built-in AI recognises spaces and stains. It goes beyond mapping your home to identify the room type (living room, kitchen, etc.) and automatically suggests “no-go zones” it should avoid, like bathrooms and porches.  If the robot detects a stain, it goes back to its docking station to heat its mop pads up with steam and water, before returning to the offending splotch to clean with its 170RPM spinners. Samsung said it can “actively scrub off even hardened stains”. Other Bespoke Jet Bot Combo features include detecting floor types via AI Floor Detect. It distinguishes between hard flooring versus carpets, and ramps up suction power accordingly (for example, sucking harder to get dirt and dust out of carpets). It can also retract its mop pads when it goes near carpets to avoid cross-contamination of yuck. The docking station itself offers a three-step mop pad cleaning system, which has auto-wash, steam-cleaning, and auto-dry.  Samsung’s Bespoke Jet Bot Combo will be exhibited at CES 2024, happening between 9 and 12 January 2024 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (Winchester, Nevada, U.S.).
