is making it even easier to remit money overseas, with the launch of the new function that will allow customers to send money abroad just by using recipient IDs along with either an email address or phone number. Instead of having to faff about with filling in bank account numbers, SWIFT codes or IBANs, transfers via Mobile Wallets are easily done and often completed in under 20 seconds. This also helps reduce the chances of potential problems associated with traditional bank transfers, such as sending the money to the wrong bank account or having the money stuck with a bank. The current pricing fee for Mobile Wallets is similarly structured as Revolut bank transfers, with a 0.4% fee for standard users, a 0.2% fee for premium users and fee-free for Metal users. An alternative would be Revolut's Instant Transfers. However, the money would then be received in the recipient's Revolut account and would incur an additional charge to transfer out to a bank account. First rolling out for Bangladesh (bKash) and Kenya (M-Pesa), the service is targeted towards expats remitting money overseas and both countries are ideal for Mobile Wallets, with Africa in 2022. The announcement today introduces Mobile Wallets to Singapore's Revolut users. While the breadth and depth of countries supported seems limited right now, we're hopeful that this will expand to more territories in Southeast Asia, and to places like the United States and China, which will make it even more beneficial to a larger market.
