OnePlus 12R gets U.S. and Europe launch on 23 January 2024

A variant of OnePlus’s 2024 Android phones will likely begin its global rollout by the start of next year. OnePlus’s 2024 flagship smartphone, the , was announced for the China market. Now, its variant, , , which signifies that OnePlus is moving ahead with a global rollout like previous years. The OnePlus 12R is a reimagined, pared-down OnePlus 12 if we are to believe the leaks thus far. , it uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (SD8G2) processor, while the OnePlus 12 uses the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. In return, the OnePlus 12R gets a bigger 5,500mAh battery, just 100mAh more than its flagship counterpart.  At its core, the OnePlus 12R offers competent components like a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate, a triple rear camera combo (50MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro), and a starting RAM of 16GB.  Right now, the leaks are more concerned with its possible launch date and colourways available. Phone tipsters Max Jambor ( ) and Ishan Agarwal ( ) said that OnePlus 12R would come in Cool Blue and Iron Gray colourways, with a global launch date on 23 January 2024. OnePlus has a mainline numeral series of phones that serves as its flagship representative of that year (for example, OnePlus 12 for 2024). It has variants like the R-series, which was believed to be an India-exclusive lineup until now. The T-series, which we are more familiar with, serves as OnePlus’s budget flagship alternative.
