No Horse Run is no stranger to us. During our last visit to their Yishun outlet, we were entranced by their unique gelato flavours and delicious pandan gula melaka waffles. When we heard they rebranded to No Horse Run Cafe with a new outlet in Ang Mo Kio, we had to visit to try their all-day breakfast and brunch offerings that reminded us of the popular retro cafe Joji’s Diner.  Joji’s Diner Review: Retro American Diner At Serangoon For Chicken Waffles And Burgers Under $12.90 Speaking of the iconic Joji’s Diner, we had to get the Fried Chicken with Waffle ($15.90) to see how they fared against the popular American diner. Right off the bat, I was surprised by the massive fried chicken atop the waffle. In case you can’t tell, there’s a sunny-side up between the fried chicken and buttermilk waffle too.  The fried chicken had just the right amount of crispness and juiciness, which contrasted well with the soft and fluffy waffles. The sweet vanilla flavour in the waffle was not overpowering and allowed the smoky paprika marinade in the fried chicken to shine through.  We were also impressed with the price and heaping portion of the Fish N Chips ($7.90). Every bite of the fried dory fish provided a satisfying crisp, and made for a substantial meal when eaten with the generous serving of fries. Our top pick, though, was the Eggs Benedict ($11.90). It featured ham and poached eggs atop two English muffins drizzled with hollandaise and then topped with bacon. You also get a salad on the side! Looking at how the fluffy muffins absorbed the egg yolks was truly satisfying. Each bite was bursting with umami flavour from the hollandaise, ham, and bacon.  We ended our meal with their Matcha Cream ($7.90 for half). This Korean cream buttermilk waffle came topped with matcha ganache, then covered with a generous amount of whipped cream, before matcha powder was sprinkled on top.  We loved how everything, from the waffle to the whipped cream, was fluffy and smooth. If you’re a fan of anything matcha, this combination of the buttermilk waffle and earthy matcha cream can’t go wrong. Here’s a tip, enjoy the dessert quickly before the whipped cream melts!
