New PlayStation 5 Pro specifications leaked, likedly to feature AMD's next-gen GPU

The rumours of a PlayStation 5 Pro just can’t seem to stop. This time, Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson – who also leaked the before it was announced – has claimed to have information on the PS5 Pro’s specifications. Accordingly, it appears Sony is sticking with the same silicon that powers the vanilla PlayStation 5. However, the CPU in the PS5 Pro will have a “ ” that is said to turbocharge the CPU's power by 10 percent (up to 3.85GHz), although this comes at the cost of a slight 1.5 percent downclock in GPU performance. Memory will reportedly get a big boost too, with the PS5 Pro’s memory bandwidth being increased from to . Tom claims that the system memory will also be more efficient, and that the bandwidth gains could be even faster, allowing it to handle the demands of intensive games better. Leaked specs also suggest that the PS5 Pro will be capable of rendering visuals at an incredible 45 percent faster than the PS5, including up to four times faster at ray-tracing – thanks to it packing an . The new console will also come with its own AI-assisted upscaling and antialiasing technologies, called (or PSSR). Whether this is a hint of what we can expect from AMD’s next generation of GPU is also unclear, but an AMD FSR using AI might allow it to compete better with NVIDIA’s excellent DLSS. Last but not least, it is also claimed that the PS5 Pro will share the same detachable disc drive feature as the PS5 Slim, along with a 1TB SSD. Source:
