For CES 2024, Dell is adding three new models to its XPS series of notebooks, the XPS 13 Plus, XPS 14, and XPS 16. Dell says that the new models “take a minimalistic approach that elevates the brand” to eliminate distractions and focus on productivity. They come made of CNC machined aluminium, Gorilla Glass 3, and tone-on-tone colours (available in Graphite and Platinum). They feature a touch function row to switch between media and function keys easily, a glass touchpad with haptic feedback, and larger keycaps to provide a comfortable and smooth typing experience with every keystroke. Each new XPS laptop features InfinityEdge panels with OLED touch options, variable refresh rates (VRR), high-resolution options, and comes with Dolby Vision as well. In terms of audio, the new models use a quad-speaker design and have support for both Dolby Atmos and 3D stereo surround from MaxxAudio Pro by Waves. In terms of the new AI-enabled features, the XPS notebooks have and a built-in AI acceleration engine with the addition of an NPU (neural processing unit). This means the PC no longer needs to rely solely on the CPU or GPU for processing and performance. Dell says that this will automatically leverage the right compute engine for the workload. The new XPS models all come with Copilot in Windows 11, so that users have access to generative AI to make the things they do every day easier and faster. The new XPS series can also deliver performance when on the move. For example, all of the new XPS notebooks feature ExpressCharge to recharge 80% of battery life in just 60 minutes. Finally, for video calls, there is also a new intelligent FHD 1080p webcam. The XPS 16 is the frontrunner of the portfolio, with supercharged performance for complex workloads. Featuring the latest Intel Core Ultra processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs (up to the GeForce RTX 4070 GPU), the XPS 16 is Dell’s most powerful XPS laptop with up to 80W of sustained performance. The XPS 14 is 21% lighter than the XPS 16, but it still delivers powerful performance to complete challenging tasks with ease. With optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs (up to the GeForce RTX 4050 GPU, it is an NVIDIA Studio-validated system meaning it can perform demanding creative tasks such as 3D rendering. The new XPS 13 is Dell’s thinnest and lightest XPS and has three display options to choose from (including FHD+, QHD+ touch and 3K+ OLED touch). Dell says that its new XPS 13, XPS 14, and XPS 16 will be available on dell.com.sg as well as at Dell-exclusive stores in Singapore but has yet to release any pricing information or availability dates.
