Mister Donut To Launch New Purple Sweet Potato Doughnuts For A Limited Time

Mister Donut will launch new purple sweet potato doughnuts in September and October, available for a limited time only!…

We’re no strangers to Mister Donut since they made their mark in Singapore in early 2024. The Japan-famous chain is also known for their seasonal flavours, the most recent ones being Uji matcha, and kopi and kaya. Now, they’re back again with a special launch: purple sweet potato doughnuts! Image credit: Mister Donut There are two new doughnuts as part of this Autumn series. The first one that’ll be rolled out on 17 September is the Daigaku Imo Pon De Ring ($2.80), which stars the brand’s iconic mochi-like doughnuts infused with purple sweet potato. After it’s fried, the doughnut is glazed with a caramelised sugar syrup for added crunch and sweetness, then topped with nutty black sesame seeds. The glaze and sesame seed garnish are characteristic of Daigaku Imo, a Japanese delicacy of candied sweet potatoes. This filled doughnut is made with Benitenshi sweet potato from Kaisuka, a popular confectionery store in the Ibaraki prefecture in Japan. You can buy both doughnuts at all Mister Donut outlets when they’re launched. While you’re there, consider getting a bundle of six pieces for $14, or 10 pieces for $23. Do note that there’s a top-up of $0.30 per piece if you’re ordering the Daigaku Imo Pon De Ring or Benitenshi Cream doughnuts. Mister Donut Opens At 313 Somerset With New Churro Doughnut Mister Donut now has seven outlets across the island, including 313 Somerset and Anchorvale Village. If it’s your first time trying their doughnuts, we recommend going for the classic Pon De Ring Chocolate ($2.50), topped with a dark chocolate glaze. The Japanese-style mochi doughnut is made with tapioca flour for that chewy, QQ texture, and is also available in flavours such as plain and strawberry.
