Look closely at Lenovo's newest detachable notebook above. Notice anything different from the screen? It's running Android.  It's called the . And it's likely because it's a detachable notebook that runs both Windows and Android. If you open it up and leave the display attached to the keyboard, it runs Windows. But when you pull the display off, it instantly boots into Android and turns into an Android tablet.  It's a cool concept, but the execution is actually less exciting and straightforward. The keyboard portion of the notebook houses a traditional Windows system, which is to say it has  and can be outfitted with up to 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. It also has a 75Wh battery. The display or tablet portion has a , 12GB of memory, 128GB of flash storage, and a 38Wh battery.  Despite all this, it remains a relatively portable device. , which is quite remarkable given that it's really two separate systems melded into one. The display is a and supports 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space. This is easily one of the most interesting notebooks that I've seen from CES 2024 and it's actually a wonder that it took us this long for someone to give us a notebook that runs both Windows and Android. Lenovo says the ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid will be available in Q2 2024 and prices will start at around , which is about what you'll pay for a decent Android tablet and Windows ultraportable notebook together if you purchased them separately. No word yet on local pricing and availability, but we'll update this article once know more.
