Huawei leads the global wearables market in Q2, followed by Xiaomi and Apple

Huawei managed to surpass Apple and Xiaomi to lead the global wearables market in Q2 according to the International Data Corporation (IDC)'s Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker data.  The global weareables market, which include wristband trackers and smartwatches, saw a total of . Compared to Q2 2023, it is a slight decline of 9.7%. Huawei saw strong growth in the first half of the year with its launch of new wristband trackers and smartwatches, which contributed to in shipments! Second on the list is Xiaomi. Its achievement is impressive considering that the Chinese company did not launch any new wristband trackers. IDC attributes Xiaomi's growth to the S3 Watch and Watch 2 series. Apple came in third with . IDC says shipments of Apple Watches were affected by "the global macroeconomic environment and fierce price competition in the market". However, IDC states that Apple still leads the global smartwatch market.  IDC noted that the growth of Chinese wrist-born market has exceeded the global market due to a rapid growth rate of Chinese manufacturers.
