The first whispers of Google’s next budget-tier phone suggest that things are getting more expensive elsewhere. According to German technology publication , retailer data in Germany revealed that the Google Pixel 8a comes in four colourways and two storage configurations: 128GB and 256GB. The four colours are black, beige, light blue, and light green, although the retailer information lists them in Google’s fancy naming styles (Obsidian, Porcelain, Bay, and Mint, respectively). More alarming is the increase in Euro sticker prices. WinFuture reported that the Google Pixel 8a starts at €569 (~S$829.54), significantly higher than the Google Pixel 7a’s €499 (~S$727.48) official retail price. For reference, the Google Pixel 7a ( ) had an official starting price of S$749 (128GB) in Singapore. Also, the were S$100-S$250 more expensive than the flagship counterparts it replaced. The report does not have a concrete launch date for the Pixel 8a, but rumours suggest an April or May 2024 launch. Source:
