Google has been adding AI to its software to increase our productivity and creativity in both its and . With the (currently in beta), the company is introducing three new experimental generative AI features to make it easier and more efficient to browse on Chrome. , Google says that the new features will be available to users in the United States who use Chrome on Macs and Windows PCs over the next few days. They leverage Google’s advanced machine learning and AI technologies to automate and enhance common tasks such as organising tabs, creating your own custom themes, and getting help to draft text for the web. While you can currently , using the new Tab Organizer feature you can right-click on a Chrome tab and select “organize similar tabs,” and Chrome will attempt to create a tab group based on your open tabs. So, it will automatically sort open tabs related to travel, shopping, or music into one. To use this feature, right-click on a tab and select “Organize Similar Tabs” or click the drop-down arrow to the left of your tabs. Chrome will even suggest names and emojis for these new groups so you can easily find them again when you need them next. Google said that it was bringing a text-to-image diffusion model to Chrome so users can personalise their browser. They can generate custom themes based on an image, mood, visual style and colour from the “ ” side panel. Simply click “Change theme” and then “Create with AI” to generate a theme around the “aurora borealis”, in an “animated” style with a “serene” mood. Stuck on writing a report for school or a review of the latest movie you saw? Google is adding its “Help me write” feature to get you started. A user needs only to right-click a text box or field on any site visited in Chrome and select “Help me write.” Type in a few words and Google’s generative AI will kickstart the writing process. Getting started once these features are available is simple. Users just need to sign into Chrome, select “Settings” from the three-dot menu and navigate to the “Experimental AI” page.
