We thank Ms Margaret Lee for her letter “ ” (Aug 22). As part of the Sports Facilities Master Plan, Sport Singapore (SportSG) continues to develop and rejuvenate our infrastructure to meet the diverse and evolving sporting needs, interests and aspirations of Singapore’s population. The public can look forward to sheltered tennis courts at upcoming developments of new sports facilities such as the Punggol Regional Sport Centre and the Toa Payoh Integrated Development, which are expected to be completed in 2026 and by 2030, respectively. SportSG considers a number of factors in upgrading existing facilities to sheltered courts, such as the trade-offs between shelters and court space, and budgetary prudence. We will continue to consider all factors as we develop new sport centres and refurbish existing facilities. We are pleased that Ms Lee is enjoying the sport facilities at the new Kallang Tennis Hub, which includes indoor courts.
