We share Mr Pang Cheong Yan’s concern on the littering problem at Kranji Reservoir Park ( , Aug 22). The National Environment Agency (NEA) is aware of the littering situation along Kranji Way, near Kranji Reservoir Park. The site is constantly monitored and regularly cleaned throughout the week. From January 2023 until July 2024, NEA has issued 23 tickets for littering and other public hygiene offences within the vicinity of Kranji Reservoir Park along Kranji Way. NEA will continue to deploy enforcement resources to this area and educate the people who frequent the place on proper disposal of refuse. NEA, together with our many partners, conduct activities such as litter-picking sessions, beach and park clean-up exercises, and appreciation days for cleaners. We will continue to do so. While litter bins have been provided for use by members of the public, we need the support of the community to play their part. In this Year of Public Hygiene, with a strong emphasis on the collective efforts needed by all stakeholders to uphold high standards of public hygiene, everyone is reminded that they have a critical role to play. A concerted effort by all, is crucial to build a clean and green Singapore. Group Director, Environmental Public Health Operations National Environment Agency
