Bandai Namco's excellent Ace Combat 7 is coming to the Nintendo Switch this July

Bandai Namco has confirmed that its critically acclaimed is slated for a debut this July. This marks a significant milestone for the franchise as it’s the first Ace Combat game to launch onto the Switch platform. Originally launched in 2019 across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, Ace Combat 7 has garnered a strong following. The forthcoming Switch edition, labelled as the , isn't just a straight port. Bandai Namco has promised an enriched experience by bundling a variety of previously launched DLCs – mostly those that were released in the Season Pass from the console platforms. The Deluxe Edition is quite a package. It includes the original Ace Combat 7 game along with a trio of aircraft sets: , , and . Also thrown into the mix are three additional missions , , and . For hardcore fans, the Music Player mode and two playable aircraft – the and the – add to the allure. Rounding off this edition are a collection of three skins and eight emblems from the series’ past titles. However, it's noteworthy that this Switch version doesn't boast the entire DLC catalogue found in its PS4, Xbox One, and PC counterparts. Bandai Namco has hinted at future DLC releases for the Switch, albeit as paid content. Ace Combat 7 has enjoyed critical success, with commendable Metacritic scores for its PS4 (80) and Xbox One (79) versions. Its arrival on the Switch is a first, but it's not the series' first dance with Nintendo. Previously, Ace Combat made its Nintendo debut with for the GBA in 2005 and 2011’s 3DS remake of , known as . The latter even received a 2015 update enhancing figure support.
