Bandai Namco has confirmed that , a turn-based RPG based on the insanely mega-popular manga, will launch for on . Initially released on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC in January 2023, the Switch version of the game will include a new post-game scenario called , additional costumes for the Straw Hat Crew, and some exclusive outfits only available in the Switch version. The game is notably different as compared to other One Piece games on the Switch, such as the fighting game, , and Developed with an original storyline and new character and monster designs by the manga creator himself, Eiichiro Oda, One Piece Odyssey introduces the Straw Hat Pirates to the turn-based RPGs genre. The story follows Luffy and his crew as they are marooned on a mysterious island called Waford after a storm. There, Luffy finds himself separated from his companions and stripped of his powers. He must now rescue his crew and regain his abilities to escape the island. The game allows players to control each member of the Straw Hat Pirates, utilising their unique skills in combat and exploration. The combat system in One Piece Odyssey is not quite what veterans of turned-based games are used to. It features that divide each combat scenario into zones. Players need to strategically move their characters between these zones to protect their weaknesses and exploit the enemy's, adding a strategic layer to the gameplay that enriches the challenge and engagement for the player.
