Apple is expected to use its own chips to power data centres that deliver some of the AI features in iOS 18. Sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg that Apple plans to use such as in cloud-computing servers to power some AI features on iOS 18. While Apple's preference is for most tasks to be done on device, more intensive ones such as summarising articles and image generation would require the power of cloud computing.
