Size doesn't always matter, but it most certainly does if we are talking about gaming monitors. And speaking of big gaming monitors, one of the newest ones to hit the market is a collaboration by Porsche Design and AOC, called the Agon Pro PD49. As you might have guessed from the name, this is a massive 49-inch gaming monitor. It has a resolution of , which means the PD49 is roughly the equivalent of two 27-inch QHD monitors side by side. The Porsche connection stems from its design, which is said to be inspired by the 911 2.4 Targa from 1972. Gamers will also be pleased to know that it has a high refresh rate of 240Hz and it supports Adaptive Sync. The PD49 also meets the and supports 99% of the DCI-P3 colour space. Finally, it has dual built-in speakers that put out 8W each and support DTS sound. The PD49 also has KVM and USB hub features. In terms of connectivity, it has two HDMI 2.1 ports, a single DisplayPort 1.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C upstream port, and four USB-A downstream ports. It even has a 2.5G Ethernet port. We are not sure how many people are looking for 49-inch curved gaming monitors, but they appear to be increasingly popular. Last year, Samsung gave us the and Philips later followed suit with its . Assuming you have the cash (they are very expensive), they are certainly nice things to have – not just for gaming but also for work. The Porsche Design AOC Agon Pro PD49 is available in the US now and is priced at (~S$3,158). There's no word yet on local availability and pricing, but we'll update this article once we know more.
