Launched for Computex 2024, Acer’s TravelMate series of notebooks have been “AI-enhanced” with the latest generation of processors with built-in NPUs in addition to receiving enhanced security and connectivity features. All of the new business-targeted devices come with Acer TravelMateSense for quick access to device management settings and customisations. They also feature an Acer Experience Zone where the AI features can be accessed, and Microsoft’s dedicated Copilot hotkey. For example, Acer LiveArt can remove the background of an image with people, animals and objects and generate depth maps on 2D images. With GIMP and Intel Stable Diffusion plugin, a user can also generate illustrations and images with just a few clicks and simple text input. The enhanced security comes in the form of data protection thanks to a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, biometric security, and a camera privacy shutter. TPM 2.0 is a physical or embedded security technology (microcontroller) that resides on a computer's motherboard or in its processor and is used in Windows 11 for a number of features, including Windows Hello for identity protection and BitLocker for data protection. Some models also come with Intel Unison. Intel Unison is a cross-device application developed by Intel that allows seamless integration between smartphones and PCs. It comes powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 165U, Intel Graphics, and Intel vPro Enterprise. Acer’s new (TMP416-53) is powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra processors with Intel vPro Enterprise. It also comes with Intel Unison, DDR5 RAM up to 64 GB, and up to 1 TB of PCIe SSD storage.
