Acer announces massive 57-inch Predator Z57 Mini-LED gaming monitor

If you're looking for the newest and biggest gaming monitor, the should probably be on the top of that list. Newly announced at CES 2024, the Predator Z57 clocks in at a whopping , making it even bigger than Samsung's 55-inch and and on par with Samsung's 57-inch . With 2,304 local dimming zones, Acer claims the DUHD (7680x2160) resolution on the 120Hz refresh rate Mini-LED display will let gamers "experience shadows and highlights like never before". The display also covers 98% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and is VESA DisplayHDR 1000-certified with up to 1000-nits peak brightness. The screen has a 1000R curvature and 32:9 aspect ratio, which is ideal for better immersion, and the ultra-wide screen can also be used in picture-by-picture mode, which splits the screen in half to display output from two sources simultaneously, or in picture-in-picture mode. The monitor also comes with dual 10W speakers for audio output, and supports AMD's FreeSync Premium to reduce screen tearing. There are two HDMI 2.1 ports that can be used with the latest Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, alongside a DisplayPort 1.4 port, a 90W USB Type-C PD port and a built-in KVM switch for using multiple devices. There's also a VESA mount on the rear for wall-mounting, although the included base does a good job with adjustable height, tilt and swivel options. The will be available in North America in Q2 2024 with a starting price of US$2,499.99. The monitor will start selling in EMEA in Q2 2024 from EUR 2,399, and in China in Q1 2024, starting at RMB 17,999. This monitor has a slightly less aggressive curve at 1500R and covers 94% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut while still having VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. If 120Hz isn't enough, then the Predator X34 V3's 180Hz refresh rate will be a more enticing option, along with the fast 1ms grey-to-grey (GTG) response time. Connectivity options include dual HDMI 2.0 ports with a DisplayPort 1.4 port, and the monitor can also be wall-mounted. Inside, there are smaller 5W speakers that should still provide a decent audio experience. The 800R-curvature screen covers 99% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and also supports VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 with EyeSafe 2.0 certification to reduce eye strain. All the new models support AMD FreeSync Premium and come with both a 90W USB Type-C PD port and built-in KVM switches to easily swap sources without having to reconnect peripherals and accessories.
